It really is a thing of measure, of moderation as you suggest in different ways. Also important to know that the time comes when we really can't do the olympic moves. Simply it comes down to acceptance rather than slip into an undying deppression that can last the rest of ones life.

There is a middle ground I believe. The walking sticks might be a 'step' in that type of thinking.
