A fun collection! Reflects where US,(and of course global) society was back then. I'm pushing 71 and I seem to remember other ads that were far more suggestive about certain taboos.

Tools and cigarettes were of course real fodder for sexual insinuation. How about the guy who gets the 'bigger boat' and the ladies were seriously attracted to him.

Cars were fertile fields for , er, slamming home the sexual parallels., Bigger, smoother , faster...

As you pointed out, beer and booze were huge areas to cross that line!

There was a chocolate, cookie snack called Mounds, probably still around. Each year the company would try to outdo the previous years efforts at equating their suggestively shaped snacks, to women's breasts. No not the whole breast... One year the comparison to the eye catching breasts of the model holding the snacks as a clear reference was too obvious. Her thick velour sweater ( late sixties, which was then all the rage) couldn't hide the eye catching fact that her nipples were the same size and shape!

Really rather amazing considering where we are now.

Remember announcements for upcoming games in the NFL; ones imagination was hardly needed!

Good that this focus is much less.

Yes, of course it's still there but not so blatant and so unashamedly demeaning.

Just see liquor ads from other countries not in the US...

Thanks for bringing this front and center again. Important to recall where we were so as not to return to that.
