A moving piece! That strange time was very much while I was a kid. I remember those mags and the ads. Oil of Olay even captured my attention with one of the 'thoughtful ads' they did for a while. A marketing thing of course.
Linda, the worst or saddest is that culturally we're still there! Add to that : the female figure still outsells evrything. Proves that god really knew what he was doing when he designed 'her'.
I still recall when as a midteen feeling the deligtful 'stirring' provoked by an amply endowed model in a skin tight sweater doing a Mounds ad. Do I feel shame? Hell no, made me want to eat more, um, Mounds. But yes even back then there was just something not right about it...
