I too have taken some heat from stuff I've written. Can't please everyone damn it ha!
One of the most painful was some low shots I took from a family member. I'd written a story about having worked with ‘secretary from hell’. It was a simple fact, she in fact was the sec. from hell!
It was the first time I've ever been accused of being a misogynist. Get this, I had to look the word up! Oh of course one can be a mysoginist without knowing the word. The pain was that it came from a supposed loved one. Worse though was the pain that came from the simple fact that no I wasn't (am not ) a misogynist.
Anyway, as writers we do have to be ready to take a shot to the chin.
