Good advice.

Though very difficult to enforce. The notion that the authorities somehow know how many firearms one keeps in their house is of course not true. Guns have slipped through the cracks of any sort of control efforts. Perhaps the gun you buy now will be easier to keep track of, unfortunately after it-s too late. But guns bought before controls were and are being put in place are free of any sort of big brother control. There are just too many of them!

If you have a gun or guns in the house, I don't care how well you think they're hidden. Think again. Someone will find them. Try to keep a hidden gun from a ten year old gun fanatic, impossible. He, or she (usually a he), will know exactly where the gun is. Personal experience taught me that once youths have located your 'hidden' guns, they will not tell you!!

Food for thought.

As a pre ten year old, I can't tell you how many times me and my buddies discovered a friends dads' catch of guns, ammo, the works. Fooled around with them, then put them all away and never told a soul. But we knew...

Its just the nature of the beast when it comes to firearms. One final comment. Lets say the gun owner really has placed his/her gun in a locked place where not even a blow torch can get in. What's the point? Now the gun is of no use during a home invasion, zero. Only hollywood will show different.

Unfortunately, the gun owner must keep one gun in a 'rapid access' place. Unfortunately, the kid will know...

Good read however. This is an important topic which needs constant evolving.
