haha too cool.
It-s surprising how many have similar stories to yours with the key exception being that one isnt a musician.
Mine was getting a chance meeting with Neil Young. This was when times had put him back in a bus and they were pounding the highways. Sort of his middle years.
Anyway, long story short. I begged one of the band flunkies to tell Neil to come over to the restaurant I worked in next to the motel where these guys were overnighting. The band guy actually came back, I think he was after a waitress, and he tells me that Neil said to thank me for my interest but he was too damn tired to come over.
Probably shell shocked from doing shows every night.
I guess some years had passed that I'd last seen pictures of Neil. Yeah, get this; He finally came over after telling his band guy he wasn't going to come over. I didn't recognize the sun of a bitch!!!
No shit, it wasn't until I got home and for some reason there was a picture of Neil Young in the newspaper and the scraggly haired guy that had come over just because of a fan who said he'd been a life long influence was the same guy!
He came over, sat at a booth and I walked right by the guy, something buzzed inside me, I said hi but nope I didn't recognize Neil Young.
He said hi back, nice smile, looked tired.
Neil Young was in the top five for me, still is.
