Hi Esha,

Your piece brought a smile to my face and maybe even a chuckle.

This is just the nature of the beast, just as you described! Well described I might add.

I've been with Medium a handful of years and I've been down the road you so well laid out.

Bottom line is this: Imagine the amount of energy and activity it would require to honestly follow up on every willing correspondence you start with other writers. You'd be writing all day long just fulfilling your social obligation as a writer to other writers!

Take a moment and contemplate it.

Several years ago I started down that road. All heartfelt and sincere reaching out to my fellow writers, fellow crafters. For about two days it felt like being a part of warm cast of fellow creators, lots of ooh and ahs. Its fun, it is. But it has a very real wall that one runs into.

Every time you try to truly engage another writer you extend yourself out just a little more. Your time gets taken up.

So, with prudent measure, the interaction can be quite rewarding, and it is. But at some point we just have to get back to our writing and keep our outreach to other writers within a manageable field.

Enjoyed your writing.

Tom
