Have struggled year after year. Often these struggles friendly back and forths with other writers, (who insist on outlines and that structure).
I get it, I do. I even get the importance some top writers place on titles, working titles.
Frankly it's my love of discovery, of the craft, that almost without fail sends me down that road, or creative path of no outlining!
Lately, for whatever reason have found myself against 'the ropes' and find the need for a quick outline: names w descriptions, chronology of the thread. I might even stumble over a 'better' route as plot unfolds!
This is always with short stories as I'm not writing books.
Jury is still out but your thoughts are most appreciated.
The one book I've written relied on partial outlining...
