Speaking as a non scientist, utterly non tech person I agree this seems to be a wonderful solution to many of our problems.

Also, as a person that will not be around in 2040 when perhaps this science could become a functioning reality in space, it still pumps me up. Just to think that future generations could have this. What a blessing.

At first I was sure you were going to present the potential in solar 'wind' projection. IE: set up massive sails in space and the 'winds' will eventually hike speeds up to mind numbing levels. All sorts of potential. This concept came to me when I was a young preteen. Yes. Stuff like that really happens. Alas, this was not the subject of your post. Forgive my tooting of my horn!!Ha,
