Guatemala is wonderful no two ways about that. Theres a long list of things I could help you with but I'll just share the one that is critical.
Cash, pisto, money, Quetzales. Gotta have the cash in the bank. No its not like living in Rome where just breathing will set you back piles of cash. But as in any destination place money is what paves the way. Having said that, yes, there are all sorts of money saving options for living, where to buy your supplies, how to get around.
