Hunter S. Thompson,

Arrived in my lap top this morning. Never have read or much less studied him to any appreciable length, or zero.

That out of the way. There's no denying the writer had a draw about him. There have been others for sure and I-ll avoid listing for a number of reasons.

Thanks for the interesting rundown of the writers day. I could've suggested other wise than hanging out with bikers but it is what it is. The feeling is one of deeply uncomfortably cramped...Freedom of choice.

Thanks to your piece I will attempt to read more of his stuff. As I said, he seems, seemed, so, promising, alluring in a badass sort of way.

Many of us are drawn.

One likes to think that amidst his bad ass persona that perhaps he wasn't a bad ass persona. At least not in the heart where it counts. Oh hell, anyone can dress up...

Why is it a relief to assume he wasn't really the bad ass? It's because there are already enough bad asses to go around.

Need I add? Most wannabees...

What one HST book might you recommend a HST novice read?

Thanks.

T
