I'm in the same boat. I'm a Guatemalan citizen and have enjoyed some two years of publishing in Medium.

I've grown tired of trying to get around the non-American hang up. I don't think there's going to be any solution soon. In my case its a little laughable as I am on an opposite pole to Top Writer's ranking. But after almost two hundred stories published it would just be great fun to see even fifty centavos okay?

Anyway, best of luck to you. Who knows if enough of us keep ringing that bell Medium may change its approach to us?
