Where to start.

What a fun review of the great writer. No doubt many of us are brought to pause over the fact that he interlaces the drinking with everything else, more than I've read elsewhere.

Your drink along project as you read him sounds like an impossible challenge. Ha! Who knows though. You just may gain an insight or perspective worthy the pain and morning afters.

Not sure we can truly convince ourselves we are indestructible. Sure, as a youth it never entered my mind. That something might take me down one day, Now many years later this seems just a question of time.

One reader in response to your excellent piece said: 'The Hemingway myth is so much greater than the man... ' So True! So many of the legendary writers, doers, creators, builders, etc turns out the aura placed around them is far more than was the case.
